This is the first comic where I show you guys the 'new' Ben. I wanted to have him a little more expressions. Since a year ago he became almost a stick figure. He had no nose and his eyes were always just two dots. So now he's more human and I can express his face more. I also tried to make the height difference between him and Mojo and Merv a little less... but that was harder to achieve.

Really enjoyed drawing Lurch. He's a pretty iconic person, so I had to google what makes Lurch Lurch.

I really enjoy how it all turned out. Had some help from my friend Jeff Couturier to tweak the text... but I guess it turned out nicely this way.

Also... don't forget to drop a comment, since the next drawing of the Monthly Sketch Giveaway will be next Sunday!

Thanks mate. It took a while and I think he will evolve and gets tweaked here and there, but glad you like him 🙂

I really like the new Ben, you are right, this does allow for more facial expressions. Great job on Lurch. I remember as a kid answering the door as lurch, I just loved that show. The movies were OK, but the TV show was one of my top ranked growing up.

Yeah, I really missed the possibility to play with Bens facial expressions. Guess I now can make more use of that 😛

I always loved Lurch, especially the line: “you rangggg?” ^^

I liked the simplicity of the old Ben. I think this one needs a little more work. Good luck! Love the comic.

I also liked the simplicity of the old Ben… but he didn’t really fit with the rest of the crew. He kinda was too simple, in my opinion.
But I agree… this is just the beginning, he will need some work.

Thanks for your love for the comic 🙂
