Cold Surprise

For this strip I took a different approach. Different than I usually do, that is. I first sketched it, but I used about 90% of my sketch as the final drawing. I also used the same 'ink' color from the sketches as my final ink. Really love how it turned out, really has a distinctive look in my opinion. But I'm really curious what you guys think of it. Do you miss the colors? Do you miss the black lines? Or do you love it just as much as I do?

  1. I think it looks great, it’s cool to see all the experimentation that you do with the strip!

    1. Thanks mate. I love to experiment a lot, as you might have noticed. Glad my readers like to see it as well.

  2. I love that you’re continuing to explore your creativity. I found what I like and I just stick with it.

    1. I sometimes think I found what I like and after a while I come to the conclusion I want to try something different 🙂

  3. Anything you can do to make your comic more memorable/stand out is a good thing. As long as it doesn’t interfere with the getting the gag/message across.

I think Starslip used a simliar effect.

    Cool.

    1. Thanks for your feedback, Rolfe. I couldn’t agree more with you. Every time I try something else, I know that the most important thing is to get the joke across.
